The Lord has a way of bonding together teams of people for His unique plans and purposes. Earlier this month, a group from Calvary Chapel St. Petersburg took a trip to our Center in Antigua, Guatemala to help us with some on-site construction.
The team consisted of four guys, three of which were part of the first mission team to come to Guatemala in early 2013. As they arrived on property, they were amazed at how things had changed and developed, but also were struck with memories about how things were the first time they arrived. As they asked about things like the old stove in the kitchen and this and that, we were able to fill in the gaps for them with update stories.
The CC St. Pete team came to work and to serve the staff and students that call the PFM center home. They worked from after breakfast until dinner, but still made time to fellowship with staff and students in the evenings. The team worked side by side with the IGNITE Class 9 interns serving their field time in Guatemala as well the Calvary Chapel Bible College students. The members of the team took time to pour into each of them, really discipling them as they worked. One of the IGNITE interns commented how great it was that he was learning the skill of installing electrical lines and boxes and how useful that would be to him in his future!
In summary, 46 new electrical outlets were installed; the baptismal that will be used by Calvary Chapel Antigua was tiled and prepared for use; and a bathroom in need of major repair was remodeled including installing an entirely new shower, and tiling the floor and walls. Many other ‘little things’ were accomplished throughout the week. This was a team that the Lord used as a great encouragement to those of us who are living on the property long-term. The team was lead by servant leadership and were an incredible blessing! We thank The Lord for them not only for the physical work they accomplished that will benefit the ministry for years to come, but also because of also their servant attitudes and caring, generous hearts.
